SYMPHONY STYLE HOTEL KUWAIT
KUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT
Kuwait was a country I had never visited before in my life, and I had no idea what to expect. As we were being flown in for the first edition of Kuwait Fashion Week, I knew that we would be spending most of our time at the hotel as the fashion shows were all taking place inside the hotel. When you know you will be spending that amount of time inside, comfort is extremely important and I was not disappointed. Actually, arriving at the hotel I was met with a chain reaction of positive surprises. The reception is extremely large with lounge areas and a pleasant scent. One of the managers greeted me and handed me a gift which was a golden coin from the hotel. I presume this was because we invited for the Kuwait Fashion Week, so I can’t guarantee the coins are available at the hotel on all occasions.
The manager proceeded to lead me to my suite which was a Symphony Suite of 72 square meters with a lounge, separated bedroom and 2 large bathrooms. The suite was decorated with vibrant colors, had a comfortable couch with pillows in the lounge area and a dining table with complimentary fruit and snacks. The lounge and bedroom have large flat-screen televisions and the main bathroom has a mirror TV leaving you the decision of watching yourself or watching a TV show. Next to the TV in the lounge is a service station with coffee machine, kettle and a fine selection of coffee and tea. There are two mini bars in the suite, one in the lounge and one in the bedroom. They are fully equipped with drinks and snacks except for alcohol. It is very important to note that alcohol is illegal in all of Kuwait and it is prohibited to bring alcohol into the country. The alcohol free white wine in the mini bar wasn’t bad though!
There is a descent sized outside swimming pool, but as we came during a quite rainy week we weren’t able to use it. I do recommend the massages at the spa though. The hotel is located quite a distance from the city center, but on the other hand with the large floor to ceiling windows in the two rooms, the view of the city and ocean was magnificent. This hotel was one of the most comfortable I have visited and definitely lives up to its stars.
