It makes me smile just thinking about this hotel which is my little bubble of peace. I am based in Paris and this hotel is less than 40 minutes by car from the center of town. I come here to get some peace, to swim, to go to the spa to relax and to work when I am working on things on my computer, not out in the field shooting for TV. I always look forward to my stays here.
I usually book the design superior rooms with a nice view over the lake and its coloured fountains and the Casino Barriere. There is a balcony with a couple of chairs and a table to enjoy the view with your partner or friend. The bed is kingsize and very comfortable, there is a kettle, coffee and tea provided along a bench that also has a desk, and a flatscreen television above. Some of the rooms are decorated by the same interior designer that designed La Fouquet’s and they also have a bubble bath. These are my favorites and I’m a little bit worried about spilling this secret!
The spa and fitness center “Spark” separates Hotel du Lac from Grand Hotel. It is a big complex including comfortably sized swimming pool for laps and a hydrotherapy area. The hydrotherapy area includes all kinds of water jets you can imagine for a watery full body massage.
The staff at the hotel are very pleasant and kind and as I stay so often they always welcome me with my name and a smile. I feel like the house cat in this hotel as I am always lurking around.
The stars given above were really hard to designate because I have to be objective at the same time as I rate my most frequented and appreciated hotel. Even if they are the stars given, I have to say that my overall experience there counts as 5 as it’s always my go to hotel.
