CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL
IHG GROUP (INTERCONTINENTAL HOTELS GROUP)
My mission in Porto was to attend the Portugal Fashion Week and we were invited by L’Appart PR in Paris. The reception area is a bit somber, but large and leads into a lounge bar area on the left side. I was led to a superior room of a comfortable size with a king size bed, desk, table and chairs by the window and a large flatscreen television. The decor was pleasant, but a bit bland to be honest. I was greeted by a gift bag on the bed as we were working on the Fashion Week, but what anyone will find on the bed is something I actually haven’t been able to find anywhere else. So I am looking forward to staying at a Crowne Plaza Hotel tonight just for these little gifts. On the bed you will find a little box saying “This Works” that contains a sleep spray that is an incredible mix of lavender and other scents to spray on the pillow. There is also a sleep roller that you roll over pulse points for a good nights sleep. The bed is incredibly comfortable and I am very picky on beds so this you can trust. The view wasn’t really great as the area of the hotel is a bit outside of town and you see mostly other tall buildings.
The bathroom has a comfortable bathtub and the products that you can expect and yes, at this hotel they provide conditioner, bath robe, slippers and fluffy towels. The staff are great, very friendly and if you like to chat they will gladly have some interesting conversations with you. But they respect any limits so they will not engage in these kinds of discussions if they feel you don’t want to.
I decided to stay at this hotel after the fashion week ended as I liked it and wanted to explore Porto more. I ended up staying 2 weeks which says a bit about how much I enjoyed it.
Super comfortable bed, pillows and nicely scented sleeping spray. Very friendly staff.
The view wasn’t great and we had storm and heavy rains for almost 2 weeks while I was there during October.
